As a result of our growing operations in Hertz we're now seeking a Principal Full Stack Software Developer to join our IT team in our offices in Swords.
Hertz is rolling out a new team and we are looking for the sharpest of minds to join us. The team will be focused on improving solution and architectural design. building cloud native software, using technologies such as Cloud Foundry, Spring, Java, Android, iOS, React, and more. We’re a team that’s never content with “good enough” – we’re always looking for better ways to help people organize their code, ease build maintenance, and keep up with the latest technologies, while simultaneously focusing on performance and reliability.
In joining our team, you’ll be working with a creative family of engineers that places a high value on new and diverse perspectives, all to solve challenging and emerging diverse problems. We’re also a deeply collaborative team, working closely with other teams inside and outside the division to bring the best end-to-end experience via the latest technologies.
Our massive European Service Centre office based in Swords, Dublin offers a bright, modern and friendly working atmosphere. We employ approximately 900 people with over 29 different nationalities.

As a professional, skillful Principal Full Stack Sopftware Engineer you will be capable of delivering best practice in software development in order to produce quality code. You will be part of this vibrant
brand-new team, playing a critical role with the opportunity to utilise your extensive software engineering experience whilst continuing to grow and develop professionally.
In more specific terms some requirements are as follows:
Pair on all our production code
TDD all our production code
CI (Continuous Integration) everything
Work in balanced teams consisting of Product Managers, Product Designers and engineers
Ability to research problems and break them into deliverable parts
Appetite to work with companies of all scales to coach them on innovation delivery
Ability to work in a pair programming environment
Working knowledge of Lean, User Centered Design and Agile methodologies
A history of developing successful, large-scale, public web software
Experience in web front-end development
Experience deploying to cloud environments
Experience in Android or iOS development
Strong knowledge of one or more Object Oriented Programming or Functional Programming languages

Your skills: What you’ll need for a great journey
A background in software engineering; or a degree in Computer Science or other related field
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of software development experience in a variety of programming languages
Experience working directly with clients, leading projects, and mentoring engineers
Hands on experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
Experience with Angular JS or React JS
Experience with Java and Spring Boot
Experience with IoS, Android or Xamarin
Experience with AWS or other cloud provider
Strong communication skills and experience in a pair-programming environment
