The Hertz Corporation Manager Financial Reporting in Dublin, Ireland

General Responsibilities

Leading the North Region Accounting teams and based at the Hertz European Service Centre in Dublin the Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager for the Region North has full accounting ownership for UK, Germany, Netherlands and Belux.. This role is responsible for managing the teams and tasks in its region with Hertz Mission, Vision and Values to deliver their key deliverables with high quality and in the most efficient way.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, train & recruit a world-class Accounting team

  • Partner with key stakeholders to provide accounting expertise and to deliver financial information and analysis to support operational decision making as required.Manage the relationships between Dublin and the Northern European Region

  • Accurately and timely delivery of US financial reporting requirements for their region by planning, reviewing, and overseeing monthly, quarterly, and year end close activities to meet the European and US close timetable

  • Ensure country group reporting accuracy and compliance with US GAAP Ensure that annual financial statements are accurately prepared, reported timely and consistent with Hertz policies & procedures under local GAAP or IFRS ( where applicable )

  • In conjunction with the other Accounting leadership drive consistency, standardization and best practice improvement across all processes

  • Ensure accounting related balance sheet reconciliations and reviews are completed in accordance with Hertz procedural standards and physical inventories are conducted on an annual basis.

  • Review Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation to ensure that all aspects are current and accurate and monitors results of SOX self-testing process to remediate any gaps prior to testing by Hertz internal Control and/or External Audit Partners

  • Provides technical guidance to key stakeholders on group accounting policies and procedures and educates financial and non-financial management in financial matters

  • Provide timely and accurate flux analysis data for review and analysis

  • Support Tax team with respect to annual tax returns, Tax Reporting, Transfer-pricing and other tax matters

  • Leading and developing the accounting team and create & promote a culture of continuous improvement and inclusion.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting required

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • CPA Certification or equivalent ( ACA, ACCA, FCA)

  • Strong accounting experience (10+ years)

  • Proven track record in supervising large groups of employees

  • Multinational experience

  • Open mind-set and ability to think outside the box

  • Driver of change and process excellence

  • Works effectively across a complex global organization and with external parties

  • Advanced knowledge of both US GAAP & IFRS Accounting practices & standards Knowledge of Finance ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS ( R12)Driver of change and process excellence

  • Knowledge of German or Dutch an advantage
