General Responsibilities

The role: Taking the wheel at Hertz

As the General Accountant of the French General Accounting team you will be responsible for the daily and monthly general accounting processes for up to 5 entities. You will perform the required accounting calculations and entries gaining an in depth understanding of workflow with a view to standardisation and re-engineering

  • To gain an in depth understanding and knowledge of the accounting tasks, accounting treatment and reporting.

  • To perform monthly the required calculations and entries for sundry accruals, inventories, prepayments and any other general accounting as required

  • To manage the review of POs to avoid lack or excess of cost

  • To ensure that the relevant back up is provided to the different departments within HESC

  • To perform reconciliations

  • Reporting monthly results and analysis.

  • To liaise with HEL and countries finance departments to ensure that SLAs are met and queries are resolved within 3 days

  • Production of monthly reporting as required from time to time by Manager STL / Countries HEL

  • Ad hoc projects assigned as required.

  • In everyday dealings with Team Members and Customers, both Internal & External, uphold and embody the Hertz Mission, Vision and Values.

Your skills: What you’ll need for a great journey

  • University graduate in Finance in France

  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA part qualified would be an advantage

  • You must have at least an intermediate level of competence with Excel and a good understanding of all other packages in the Microsoft Office suite. In addition, you will also have previous experience of using an ERP system, preferably Oracle, on a daily basis.

  • With your good communication skills, you will be an accurate worker who can demonstrate attention to detail and strong organisational and time management skills – able to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

  • English and French is essential

  • FR GAAP knowledge and experience essential
