The Hertz Corporation Director Payment Systems - EMEA/APAC in Dublin, Ireland

General Responsibilities

The Director Payment Systems is responsible for monitoring payment and credit card industry regulations and policies. As changes occur, you are responsible for communicating what the changes are or what new regulations have been mandated, creating the business cases for them and establishing the approval for the new project. You will create architectural diagram to illustrate the changes to the given systems and operational areas. You must advocate for the success of executing the changes within Hertz within the timeframe of the regulation and/or policy. Timeliness is an absolute criticality to your success. You must be a self-motivated and have a deep ownership of being the advocate for keeping current with all regulatory and compliance rules related to the payments industry. You must create a position of “being in the know” with external financial institutions.

Collaboration is key to the success of this position. You must build and maintain relationships with processors, issuers and business units to create by-directional communications so that all parties can collaborate and plan for future changes, needs, etc. You must be proactive and forthright to ensure that regulatory changes are identified immediately, clearly defined, adapted to how they affect Hertz and generate project requests to ensure compliance. Collaboration will also be required with your counterpart who will oversee similar regulatory change for North and South America markets while you oversee EMEA and APAC.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage project intake process with PMO for new project initiatives in conjunction with the Senior IT Directors

  • Delivery of product features by writing epics, managing backlogs with the Senior IT Directors

  • Able to define and lead the go-to-market solution from inception to project approval

  • Collaborate with the delivery teams to ensure the solution is within regulations and timeframes

  • Coordinate joint messaging with the Delivery Manager assigned and IT Sr Director for a concise statue report to all levels of management

  • Create product summaries for senior management to use for future planning

  • Establish relationships with all processors so help support regular change in the industry

  • Coordinate with IT Payment Product Manager and Payment Architect based on the changes required.

  • Create and maintain a matrix of current and future institutions who will generate change. Cross reference these institutions with processes that would be affected by published

  • regulatory changes.

  • Support and provide industry knowledge to the teams that will execute the changes that have been identified.

Skills/Experience:

7+ years’ experience in the following:

  • Have experience architecting solutions that are within guidelines of the said regulatory change and the systems and processes affected.

  • Demonstrated track record of developing creative solutions in product, process or policy that delivered business results

  • Skilled at working with cross functional groups and matrix organizations in multiple geographies to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Must have implemented payment solutions involving authorization and settlement

  • Must have formal project management experience

  • Must have working knowledge of the payment product lifecycle

  • Experience in EMV-related testing and certification, Smart Card technology, or related field

  • Strong technical competence, data-driven and able to be decisive and action-oriented

  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers

  • Excellent outreach, networking, and consulting skills

  • In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of experience in EMV related testing and certification, Smart Card technology, or related field

This position would reside in Hertz’s Dublin office and report to the IT Senior Director of Payment Solutions.
