The Hertz Corporation Compliance and Risk Officer in Dublin, Ireland

General Responsibilities

Hertz is currently seeking a Risk and Compliance Officer for its Dublin based Insurance Company - Probus Insurance Company Europe. The initial business goals and objectives of Probus is to provide insurance protection to Hertz's associated and/or subsidiary companies throughout Europe and in other territories where possible. Predominantly this coverage is the form of Auto Liability and Personal Insurance risks.

In the Compliance Officer role the CO will be responsible for the compliance function and support the Board and company senior management in their efforts to ensure that the company complies with all applicable legislation, regulations and guidelines.

In addition the Chief Risk Officer role the CRO will be responsible for the risk management function and continuous maintenance and enhancement of therisk management system for the entire organisation.Both roles are pre-approval control functions, reporting to the General Manager of Probus this is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant who has Experience of compliance and risk operations within international insurance company / financial services environment or who has successfully held and managed previous compliance and risk management responsibilities and projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the integrated risk management system for the company encompassing Risk Register, Risk Appetite Statement, ORSA Process, Board Policies and Risk Reporting Dashboards.

  • Responsible for developing and facilitating the system that identifies and measures risk throughout the organization and ensure that effective risk mitigation plans are developed.

  • Assist functional managers and staff with education and tools on risk management processes.

  • Provide comprehensive and timely reports at each Risk Committee and Board on the risk profile of the business.

  • Represent Probus at insurance industry meetings and CRO forums.

Professional Experience:

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification.

  • EU and Irish legislative structures, insurance and motor directives, statutory instruments.

  • Solvency II

  • Internal audit processes

  • Company law, corporate governance, risk management and director responsibilities.

  • Knowledge of the Central Bank requirements for non-life insurers.
